Little Sunbeam, Currier & Ives

D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts

Little girl standing at center under bough of bunches of grapes and leaves. She's wearing white apron over red dress and has a black shoe on left foot with red rose at center, no shoe on right foot.

Currier & Ives created many sentimental portraits of children. This print is one of a four-part series which also includes Little Blossom, Little Butterfly and Little Snowbird, several of which are on view in this exhibition. The image features a little girl who is holding her apron as if she is about to curtsy. The child is missing her right shoe.
