Adult in pink dress headed to keep boy at top of see-saw in blue from falling. Girl seated on bottom of see-saw in a red dress. Fence behind play area.
In this outdoor scene two boys wearing lace trimmed pants and velvet shirts play on a board placed over a fence to form a see-saw. The composition is well-balanced and the woman supervising the activity on one side of the see-saw is complimented by the large flowering plant on the other side. To appeal to both city and rural customers, Currier & Ives produced another version of See-Saw which featured two plainly dressed country boys playing on a board placed across a log.
