Washington At Home, Currier & Ives

D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts

George Washington to left at table. George Washington Parke Custis to proper right of Washington in image; Eleanor Parke Custis behind table at right; Mrs. Washington to right at table and African American manservant behind Mrs. Washington. Globe at center of table. An evening scene and Martha wears a white skirt. Similar print, (2004.D03.292 FAC #6530). Differences between two prints is that in this print, GW Park Custis stands to George Washington’s proper left, in .075 he stands to his proper right. .075 also includes William Lee in far right. .292 does not. And in .075 Martha is pointing to a globe with her fan, wears a pink skirt. Most similar print (2004.D03.075 FAC #6527). Difference is that .075 is more of a daytime scene, and Martha wears a pink skirt.
