The Springfield Museums invites all amateur homebrewers age 21 or older to submit an entry into our 2023 Homebrew Competition during our annual Oktoberfest event. It’s free to enter and one guest may accompany you free of charge. The event will be held outdoors on the Quadrangle Green, with a rain location in the Wood Museum of Springfield History.

Rules and Regulations

Anyone who can legally make homebrew and does not brew beer professionally is eligible to enter.
Each homebrewer is asked to bring at least 1 keg or the equivalent amount of bottled beer.
If bottles are used, the homebrewer is responsible for disposing of them.
Each homebrewer is responsible for the set-up and take-down of their display, beer etc.
Tables, chairs, ice and tasting cups will be provided by the Springfield Museums.
One guest may accompany the registrant free of charge. All other guests must purchase a ticket.
If a brief 20-word description about the beer was not submitted with the registration form, please send this information to the program coordinator by September 25, 2023
Attendees will be given one ballot on which to select their favorite homebrewed beer. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, and will be announced at the end of the evening.
