For Springfield teachers!
This teacher workshop will demonstrate ways you can use the Springfield Science Museum and its educational tools to enhance your students’ learning potential. The Museum recently acquired an interactive river table that is available for teachers and classes to use as part of their learning curriculum while visiting the museum.
The workshop will focus on how educators can incorporate basic science concepts around water, people, wildlife and conservation into the classroom and outdoor lessons while achieving STEM goals.
Museum educator Kevin Kopchynski, along with staff from the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge, Holyoke Community College and Mt. Holyoke College will demonstrate some ways of using the watershed simulation table at the Springfield Science Museum, linking it to learning concepts for your students. In addition, together we will brainstorm and discuss opportunities and ideas of how to use the table with your students.
Most appropriate for grades 5-12
