Rain, shine or snow!

Join us for an all-day salute to beloved children’s author and Springfield-native Theodor Seuss Geisel on his 119th birthday! Free with museum admission!

Please note that while the birthday activities will be open to all visitors, timed entry to the Dr. Seuss Museum is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the event in the Welcome Center. Arrive early to secure desired entry time.

Note: Springfield Museums members must sign in for admission discount. If you would like to purchase a ticket using one of our many discounts, a reciprocal membership or gift certificate, you will need to do this transaction in person on the day of your visit at the Welcome Center. Advance ticket sales are at full-price only.

Giant Bubbles with Mr. Vinny, 10:30 am-3:30pm
Using wands he designed and constructed himself, Mr. Vinny will gather kids for a game of watch, chase, and pop the bubbles! (Quadrangle Green, weather permitting)

Roaming Magic with Pete & Chris Amusements, 11 am-3 pm
Join Pete and Chris Amusements as they perform magic tricks and get brains working with their selection of puzzles and games. (Various galleries, Springfield Science Museum)

Balloon Hats, 11 am-1 pm
Enhance your party look with a balloon hat made by Professor Knows A. Lot. (Quadrangle Green; rain location: Lower Level, Springfield Science Museum)

Airborne Comedians, 1 pm
