This Central African Ngombe Ngulu sword was reputedly used for executions. Later, it became a sign of prestige. It was brought to the Springfield area by a Baptist missionary named Dr. Clark in 1900 and donated to the Museum in 1955 by Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Rothery.
