Ever eaten Persian apple or pie plant? You may have because both are names for rhubarb! Though it is botanically a vegetable, we treat rhubarb stalks as the first fruits of the year. Asparagus and fiddleheads are two other stalks to look forward to in spring and early summer. We’ll survey the history of these local plants and explores how to use them in seasonal dishes. Recipes will be featured along with tasty dishes for sampling.
