This is now an outdoor class!
Wear a mask, bring your art supplies and a lunch! Following the CDC and Museum guidelines, this class will be held outdoors, safely-distanced and sheltered from the sun and weather on the lovely loggia of the GWV Smith Art Museum.
Painting in plein air can be a challenge. The artist is forced to work quickly as the light and scene is constantly changing. Learn the secrets professional artists use to capture the essence of the landscape. Masla will share philosophies, techniques, and methods that will help you to meet the challenges, increase your speed and accuracy in rendering the subject, as well create an expressive, dynamic painting that conveys mood and a sense of place. Masla will work with solvent free Cobra water-mixable oils. Students can work in their media of choice. Supply list provided.
Instructor: Robert Masla
