For a tiny Mediterranean country, Lebanon is filled with geographical diversity: coast, mountains, lush valleys, plains, rivers and waterfalls. On the downside, it has suffered civil war and foreign occupation. Sectarian violence, political instability and economic woes lurk around every corner. The speaker will share some of Lebanon’s cultural treasures and life on the streets from a recent visit to Lebanon that turned out to be a most unexpected experience.
