Learn more about the Museum School’s trip to France, planned for September 2022!
The great tradition of plein air painting was born and developed in the countryside outside of Paris, beginning in the 1820s. It was to one of those villages, Barbizon, that artists journeyed. Experience plein air painting in France on a small group barging tour with master pastelist Robert Carsten! Robert will lead art discussions and plein air painting sessions throughout the tour capturing the beautiful light, colors and the incredible countryside in and around the Barbizon region. Tour museums, historic monuments, churches and enchanting villages for inspiration. The barge will cruise from Paris, mooring in towns in and around Barbizon and the Fontainebleau Forest, ending in the small picturesque village of Montargis.
