Join us March 1-31
We’re celebrating the children’s book author and Springfield native who revolutionized learning to read by making it fun!
Before the pandemic, Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Party would draw one of the biggest crowds in a single day to the Museums. To help stay at a safe capacity and allow for social distancing, we decided to spread the celebration out over an entire month. The celebration will include an interactive game for families and opportunities to win a free book in the 31 Books in 31 Days: Hats Off to Reading Book Giveaway.
Please note that while the birthday activities will be open to all visitors, timed tickets for the Dr. Seuss Museum will sell out fast–order advance tickets today!
Not able (or ready) to visit in person? That’s OK! We have at-home activities for kids and families available.
Stop by the lower level of the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum to read some of Ted Geisel’s original stories along with lots of other picture books. Take part in facilitated activities that merge art and literacy, allowing children to build and utilize diverse vocabulary and reading comprehension skills while creating an original piece of artwork.
We’re giving away a book a day for the month of March! To enter this random-drawing giveaway, share a message about a book you read that today and/or your favorite Dr. Seuss Book by dropping it into the Book Giveaway box located in the Art Discovery Center.
This reading celebration is presented along with the Springfield Library’s Reading Success by Grade 4 program. One book per family.

Two is always better than one… Purchase a copy of Dr. Seuss’s Horse Museum signed by the illustrator Andrew Joyner, and save 20% on a Museum Horse plush animal while supplies last.
