Red bird painted in watercolor

Birds and Botanicals in Watercolor

July 12, 2021 @ 6:00 pm8:00 pm
| Cost: $118 | Cost for Members: $100

This is an online class!

Are you a bird lover or “someone who stops to smell the roses?” Have you ever wanted to be able to paint these beautiful creatures and flowers?  Whether you are a beginner, trying watercolors for the first time, or an intermediate watercolorist, this course will teach you the fundamentals of this often misunderstood medium—from how to do a background for your bird or flowers, to applying a wash or using masking fluid to protect your outlines. We will address how to control and mix paint with limited water and a limited palette, as well as choosing the proper weight/press of watercolor paper. The different techniques like wet-on-wet painting, as well as the proper way to use dry brush will be demonstrated. All paintings will culminate with a nature scene with beautiful vibrant colors. Supply list provided. A Zoom link will be sent the day before the class.
