With words and photographs, photographer Mark Chester discusses the origin and development of his traveling exhibition and companion book, Twosomes. The images are from his archive of black-and-white photographs spanning over fifty years, from 1968-2010, of travels and assignments. “They are pictures of people, places and things that have touched me in some emotional, intellectual, or some whimsical way,” says Chester. The images on facing pages in the book are related either by subject, a graphic element or by a stretch of the imagination.
