Do you want to create a poetic feeling to your pastel landscape paintings and aren’t sure how to achieve that emotion in your work? If so, this workshop will cover specific ways to accomplish this using color, temperature, weather, light effect, and mark making. The workshop will begin with a one-hour demonstration using these techniques for creating lyrical mood, followed by a color study exercise before beginning your pastel masterpiece. Each attendee will have plenty of instruction at your easel. Some knowledge of soft pastel is helpful, but not required. Please bring photos or iPad with your own poetic landscape scenes to utilize in the workshop. Everyone will leave with a finished pastel painting. Remember to pack your lunch.
