Currier & Ives celebrated the sport of horse-racing through a number of prints and specialized in producing portraits of champion horses, especially those that participated in harness-racing. The firm produced three versions of the print and all feature the stunning red coat and hat of the driver, C.H. Nelson (Charles Nelson).
