D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts
Single trotter and a double trotter on track with spectator stand behind and to left.
After Louis Maurer American, 1832-1932 This harness racing scene features three horses, each drawing a high-wheeled sulky. The action of the foreground is enhanced by the diagonal placement of the drivers and the shadows of the horses as the teams race around the track. While no spectators of the race are included in the scene, six men look down from the judges’ stand behind the horses.
