History in Miniature: Collections from the Connecticut Valley Miniature Figure Collectors Club

November 24, 2015–January 24, 2016 Wood Museum of Springfield History » Second Floor

Formed in the 1970s, the Connecticut Valley Miniature Figure Collectors Club seeks to inspire interest in history through the collecting, painting and display of miniature figures representing a wide array of time periods and geographical areas.  Scenes from historic battles, coronations, and royal weddings can be collected by those of all ages.  Collectors can meet and share displays at events and shows held across the country.

As an example of the variety of figures available to today’s collector, featured here are displays depicting scenes from the French and Indian War, the Battle of Waterloo, and the charm of an English street scene at Christmas-time to name a few.
