Richard Colton, historian at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, will lead a walking tour of the grounds of the Springfield Armory on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The tour will begin and end at the Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle, 21 Edwards Street.
The Springfield Science Museum's large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, November 2, at 7:30 p.m.
The Springfield Museums will celebrate fall with a Native American Pow Wow on Saturday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Quadrangle grounds. The Pow Wow is part of the Museums' Weekend Family Fun series sponsored by TD Banknorth. The event is presented in collaboration with the Native American Intertribal Council of Western Massachusetts.
The Springfield Museums will celebrate their 150th anniversary with a "Big Birthday Bash" on Sunday, October 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will feature free family entertainment and birthday cake. Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by T.D. Banknorth.
The Springfield Museums will offer a regular schedule of free drop-in science and art activities for families this fall.
