Afro-Latinidad: A Poetic Movement

May 16 @ 12:15 pm1:30 pm
| Cost: $4 | Cost for Members: FREE

Afro-Latinx peoples have historically been marginalized throughout the Americas. In some countries such as the Dominican Republic, the result has been state-endorsed violence. In the last decade, some poets have led movements that recognize this colorism and inspire Black pride.

Presented by Jose B. Gonzalez, PhD, Distinguished Fulbright Scholar; co-editor, Latino Boom: An Anthology of U.S. Latino Literature; founding editor, LatinoStories.com
