Two African American dancers

American Dance from Africa to Broadway

March 14, 2024 @ 12:15 pm1:30 pm
| Cost: $4 | Cost for Members: FREE

The United States of America is made up of many kinds of people from all over the world.  It is the blending of cultures, customs, and artistic ideas that create unique American forms of music and dance such as the blues, rock and roll, pop, hip hop, and jazz.

In this performance, Makayla Peterson and Adante Power present dances from almost 400 years of history which show the creativity and determination of the many peoples who built this country.  As we go on our journey through time, pay special attention to the stories of hope, inspiration, and tolerance told through the dances.

This lecture will be in person only and will not be recorded.
