This workshop will cover the various effects and qualities of light on the subject of a photograph. The emphasis will be on the use of natural light but also include common uses of artificial light. It will also include basic information about composition and the controls on your camera that affect the amount of light. If available, participants should bring their cameras or smartphones with them, and any questions they might have about their use. Examples of the use of light by the various image makers at the museum will be part of the program. In the second class, participants will meet for two hours to discuss newer photos of their choice that make use of what was learned in the program.
