Seascape painting

Art and the Sea

April 28, 2022 @ 12:15 pm1:30 pm
| Cost: $4 | Cost for Members: FREE

Civilization began at the shoreline where the land met and the sea. As an introduction to her upcoming Museum School series, in this lecture Christy Anderson will explore how artists from antiquity to the present have used the sea as inspiration. The sea is the source of wealth, and partly mastered through the technology of ships. But the sea remains a source of mystery and wonder.

Presented by Christy Anderson, Ph.D., Professor of Art and Architectural History, University of Toronto
