Art & the Sea

May 4, 2022 @ 10:00 am11:30 am
| Cost: $65 | Cost for Members: $55

Civilization began at the shoreline where the land met the sea. In three dynamic lectures, Christy Anderson will explore how artists from antiquity to the present have used the sea as inspiration. The sea is and has been a source of wealth, made navigable partly through the evolution and technology of ships.  Yet, the sea maintains a sense of mystery, beauty and wonder. Each week, lectures will include wonderful images and ample time for discussion. Anderson is Professor of Art History at the University of Toronto and a resident of the Connecticut River Valley.
