This is an online event!
As the universe expands, be sure that your knowledge and appreciation of all things astronomical expands along with it! This monthly virtual series features a Q&A segment on a topic in astronomy as well as a tour of the sights you can observe. We will also be treated to photographs from local amateur astronomers highlighting recent observations.
This month: We’ll take a brief look at the summer solstice. The special focus will be on the upcoming alignment of planets in the dawn sky late this month. You’ll be able to see all five of the planets visible without a telescope with a bonus of one telescopic planet for the telescope owners. What is a syzygy and is this an example? We’ll take a view of the solar system from above and go on to consider some interesting gravitational effects in our solar system and beyond.
Topic may change if there is a news-worthy development worth covering.
