The OED defines BIOGRAPHY AS: “an account of a person’s life written by another individual.” And Webster’s indicates: “the written history of a person’s life.”
But is it possible to create a biography of a specific geographical place? The series of six lectures will explore this problem by exploring the lives of three historical individuals and three specific places. The historical individuals are: Julius Caesar, Marie Antoinette, and Wallis Warfield Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor. The specific places to be visited: Pompeii, Versailles, and the Israel Museum.
Instructor: Simon Sibelman
