Botticelli & Matisse at the MFA Boston

View two major exhibits at the MFA Boston. Sandro Botticelli (1445–1510) exemplifies the artistic achievement of Renaissance Florence in the 15th century. Botticelli and the Search for the Divine features 24 paintings exploring the dramatic changes in the artist’s style and subject matter during his lifetime. Henri Matisse—who revolutionized 20th-century art—believed that a treasured group of objects was instrumental to his studio practice. Matisse in the Studio is the first major international exhibition to examine the importance of Matisse’s studio collection offering unprecedented insight into the great artist’s creativity. Paintings, drawings, bronzes, cut-outs, prints, and an illustrated book are showcased alongside about 35 works from his studio collection. Lunch on our own at the Museum’s cafes.
