Lecture is free in support of Massachusetts STEM Week!
Presentations will take place via the video conferencing app ZOOM. Please register in advance in order to access the program.
As part of the Springfield Museum’s ongoing work to highlight innovators in science, this lecture will focus on gender equity in STEM: looking at barriers to participation, the challenges women and non-binary folks face in STEM fields, and ways to broaden our own knowledge in order to influence future generations of STEM (and STEAM!) innovators. This lecture will also introduce participants to a broad cross-disciplinary philanthropic initiative called IF/THEN® with an emphasis on the IF/THEN® Ambassadors program, specifically designed to showcase positive role models across disciplines. The American Association for the Advancement Science IF/THEN® Ambassadors program is supported by IF/THEN®, an initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies.
