Visit the Clark Art Institute and enjoy a guided tour of the special exhibit Rodin in the United States: Confronting the Modern. Rodin enjoyed success in Europe and England before American collectors and museums became interested in his work. His reputation is firmly established in the United States today, but the path to acceptance was a complicated, winding one, and the stories of the collectors and museums who embraced his work reveal a desire to look beyond the conventional. This exhibition explores how American collectors embraced Rodin’s art over time, featuring nearly fifty sculptures and twenty-five drawings, including both familiar masterpieces and lesser-known works of the highest quality. Group lunch at the museum is included.
