Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s iconic album in our historic Seymour Planetarium!
The evening will begin with an exploration of Astronomy Hall set to popular hits from 1973. Jenny Powers, director of the Springfield Science Museum, will offer a sneak peek at new elements in the soon-to-open International Space Station gallery.

Take your seat in the Planetarium to hear the original album on vinyl, accompanied by stars and special effects projected on the planetarium’s dome. Giovanny Zuniga of Spin That Records will discuss the significance of The Dark Side of the Moon, and a museum curator will share the story of our historic Korkosz Projector. You’ll also get a look at significant astrophotography from the last fifty years, from images taken by the James Webb Space Telescope to photos taken by local amateur astronomers.
