Students will be introduced to drawing techniques using charcoal while exploring the concepts of portraiture drawing, including facial anatomy proportions and features. Chiaroscuro lighting, basics of light logic (light and shadow), and setting up a grid and drawing from photo reference will also be covered. Learn how to properly light and photograph your own face to use for portrait reference. Students will also have the option to draw a portrait of someone else, more will be explained in class. Supply list provided.
