This class traces the journey of tea from its home in China to Japan and then to Europe, America, and India. Following not far behind were the porcelain teapots, tea sets and other accessories needed to enjoy it. To appreciate these and the changes made to adapt them to western culture, Claire Hopley, food historian and cookbook author will take us through examples in the GWV Smith Museum. Bring your favorite tea cup to enjoy a sampling of teas along with tea-inspired dishes to taste and tea recipes to take home!
