- Photo Play: Handle cameras from the 20th century through present, learn the science behind photography, and get a copy of your portrait from our photo booth.
- Artmaking on the Quadrangle: Create a masterpiece using the day’s selected medium and display it in our pop-up gallery.
- Just Survive: Take part in this group game all about animal adaptations and survival.
- S.T.E.A.M. Station: Use Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math to solve this week’s design challenge!
- Exploration Table: Learn about the animal theme of the week through books, scientific specimens & replicas, photos, and games.
- Animal Adaptations: Delve into what makes each type of animal unique! This station will change with each week’s theme and include hands-on activities led by museum education staff.
- Story Walks: An innovative and delightful way for families to enjoy reading together along a route.
- Early Transportation for Little Hands: Explore the Springfield Cultural District with wooden cars and motorcycles.
- Sculptures in the Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery: Use building toys to create your own interpretations of works by Calder, Sugarman, and Shields.
- Chain Reactions: Marble runs, dominoes, water play, and more.
- Gallery Exploration: Using puzzles, books, games, sensory bins, and all kinds of hands-on fun, to explore art, history, and science galleries.
- Outdoor Fun: Everything from blowing bubbles to lunchtime dance parties!
