Since the advent of industrialization human approach to agriculture and forestry has increasingly developed into “killing the bugs” and “killing the weeds” in order to maximize yields. However, using the knowledge and mechanisms of plant communication can provide a more sustainable approach to plant health. Utilizing infochemicals, sensor techniques and precision farming allows for a less violent approach to safe and healthy food supply in the future.
