Madame Butterfly at the Metropolitan Opera

March 14 @ 7:30 am8:30 pm
| Cost: $289 | Cost for Members: $245

Register by January 9!

Enjoy orchestra seating in Madame Butterfly where cultures collide in Puccini’s poignant tale of a loyal geisha and a callous American naval officer whose fleeting romance leaves only devastation behind. Giacomo Puccini (1858–1924) was immensely popular in his own lifetime, and his mature works remain staples in the repertory of most of the world’s opera companies. The lyric beauty of Puccini’s score, especially the music for the thoroughly believable lead role, has made Butterfly timeless. En route, Walter Carroll will provide an enlightening lecture on the music and artistry of this popular opera. A boxed lunch is included on our way to the opera.
