New Dates!
Landscape paintings are driven by color. Seasons always change views. Realistic to Abstract. You are the art director, the artist. We will use acrylics to create and explore your new painting. Layout in light pencil from backgrounds forward to the last detail. Your canvas may be circle, square, vertical, or classic horizontal. Bring a drawing you would like to work with to the first class. In class crop it like a film maker to drive the image home for the viewer. Establish a sight line to begin the story. Using primary solid and blended colors paint with brushes, pallet knife, taped edges, or free form. The landscape is expressed with bold or subtle color, you are that individual painter. Recommended contemporary art history that you view prior to class: the landscapes of Wolf Kahn, Richard Diebenkorn and David Hockney. For beginners and returning students.
