New York City: The Neue Galerie & The Jewish Museum

Tour the Neue Galerie’s collection of paintings, sculptures, works on paper, decorative arts, and photographs created in Austria and Germany between 1890 and 1940. Major artists featured include Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, Alfred Kubin, and Richard Gerst. Then, explore 4,000 years of art and Jewish culture at the Jewish Museum with a guided tour of the permanent collection. Also on view, Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything is the first exhibition entirely devoted to the imagination and legacy of the world-renowned novelist, poet, and singer/songwriter who inspired generations of writers, musicians, and artists, Leonard Cohen (1934-2016). En route, enjoy a lecture by Dr. Simon Sibelman on the unique history of these two museums with a particular focus on the unlawful appropriation of art works and objects during the Nazi era.
