Learn techniques to render life–like birds in watercolors from award–winning wildlife artist Steve Hamlin. Starting from a provided preliminary drawing, we’ll experiment with painting backgrounds, then move into capturing feathers, wet and/or reflective surfaces like eyes and beaks. We’ll discuss underlying musculature and anatomy and the way it is affected by light and shadow. Some experience with watercolors is recommended. Most materials will be available for loan or purchase. Supply list provided.
