The human portrait will be explored in this online workshop. Students will learn to paint a portrait with all its nuances and subtleties in watercolor using a layering process. Students will paint from a photo reference. The instructor will paint, as a demonstration, a finished portrait, and will explain each step of the painting process on the first day. Students will paint on day 2 for the remainder of the class. The instructor will provide reference photos though students are welcome to bring their own. A critique and class discussion will be held at the end of the session. The class is open to all abilities though some drawing experience is recommended. A materials list will be provided upon request.
