Travel back to 1842 when John Herschel invented Cyanotypes. We will follow in the footsteps of Anna Atkins, who in 1843 produced an illustrated book of botanicals using cyanotypes. Students will learn about the history of the process, look at inspirations from historical & contemporary artists and try their hand at making Cyanotypes! Students will need to bring items in order to make photograms. Objects can include items from nature, fabrics such as lace or semi sheer materials & negatives. Anything that inspires the student can be used!
