In this session we will go beyond the basics to consider composition in depth as well as specialized topics such as close-up photography, HDR, and focus-stacking. We’ll look at the why as well as the how and move away from taking a picture towards taking a photograph. This will include discussions of the instructor’s examples, as well as any photos that participants would like to bring for review. Weather-permitting, we will spend some time outside on the Quadrangle applying some of these ideas. This class is intended for people who have some familiarity with aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. A camera with aperture priority, exposure compensation, histogram display, and adjustable ISO is recommended to get the most out of the class. Please bring a lunch or snack.
