In this course, students will use drawing, painting, and printmaking to examine the way artists create and interact with the media. How are artists inspired? Why do they create? Who decides what art is elevated or suppressed? During this course, we will take a look at artists from the past and present, including works in the Museums’ collection and special exhibits of work by artist Ai Weiwei and sculptor Don Gummer.
Please bring a brown bag lunch and snack and dress to make art.
