Pottery: Exploring Hand Building with Clay

Explore various clay techniques including pinching, coiling, slab, and sculpture! Both functional and sculptural pieces will be created. Students will receive 5 pounds of clay each to work with throughout the class to create works of their choosing. Each piece will be fired and then a glaze will be applied, the piece will be fired again to complete the process. Each project will be started with step-by-step instructions and students will have the opportunity to be creative.

The final class will be an hour-long critique session, where students can pick up their completed work and discuss with the class.
