Join us for two days or four!
On Monday and Wednesday, we’ll learn about different ways you can care for our planet. Visit the Amazing World of Dr Seuss and meet the Lorax who “speaks for the trees,” then learn about the Shinto tradition of harmony with nature. Plant your own herb garden and experiment with natural water filters. Discover how animals tell us if the environment is healthy. On Tuesday and Thursday, enjoy African Folktales as we learn about the culture and people of Africa. Dan, the Springfield Museums’ aquarist, will tell us all about the creatures of the Rain Forest, then design your own unique animal from fun recyclables. Tour the GWVS Art Museum and learn about Japanese customs and Samurai Warriors as we create our own family shield. Through special exhibits, performances, and hands-on activities, we’ll learn about caring for nature together! Bring a snack and lunch. Dress for mess!
