Sassafras, Big Dogs, and English Settlers on Cape Cod

Some of the earliest English travelers to Cape Cod were in search of a particular plant, Sassafras. It was one of the most valuable commodities in Europe. This talk will explore the importance of this native plant to both Europeans and native peoples, the voyage of Captain Martin Pring, and the curious animals on his voyage to North America
