Paint one or several silk scarves in this class that introduces the basics of silk painting. Color washes, resist painting, and stamping are some of the methods that can be used. All levels welcome. One silk scarf blank and a practice piece of silk are included in your class fee. Additional blanks can be purchased in class or bring your own. Bring your nontoxic silk paints, brushes, several jelly jars or other mixing containers, and a roll of freezer paper such as Reynolds (available in supermarkets). Optional: water-based resist, the recommended thinner and thickener for your brand of paints, rubber stamps, permanent fabric markers, hair dryer, approx. ½ gal. plastic container for dissolving resist.
