Once spices were so valued, that merchants and explorers journeyed to distant parts of the world for them. We’ll focus on the history of spices, the places they come from, the spices favored in different countries, and the ways spices are used in holiday fare — from English harvest breads to American Independence Cakes, from Thanksgiving pies to Scandinavian cookies and more. Claire will bring dishes for sampling, recipes, and books.
