Springfield Armory manufactured firearms for the U.S. military for 174 years. Springfield citizens worked diligently at this “Arsenal of Freedom” to provide our military with the best infantry weapons necessary to safeguard the nation and its interests. This fostered an era of mechanical innovation that influenced the direction of American Industry for decades. Join Park Ranger Susan Ashman for an overview of the history of Springfield Armory and how thousands of men and women worked to help shape America’s destiny.
