“The Christian Passion. Mine is a secular symbolic view…tension of geometric form, symbols and color tells the passage… provoking questions for the viewer.”
Artist and instructor Don Munson describes his work as allegorical, provoking questions from the viewer. His paintings contain realistic references, contrasted by abstract forms. Of Munson’s paintings, Douglas P. Clement states “his work assimilates, then transcends, to illuminate abstracted essential truths with a…visual language built on line and color.” In this lecture, Munson will discuss his paintings Stations and Garden. He will explore the secular abstract views of biblical passages expressed in his works. Munson will also discuss his use of geometric forms and symbols, along with graphic elements fused for impact.
