Summer Spectacular Activities

The Museums are open seven days a week and we invite you to play, explore, and create with us! Free with museum admission!

Live Animal Reptile Encounter, 11 am-2 pm
Join one of our knowledgeable museum educators at the Reptile Wall in our Live Animal Center to get a closer look and learn more about animals like a painted turtle, box turtle, ball python, and bearded dragons! (Reptile Wall, Lower Level, Springfield Science Museum)

Lifecycle of a Bee, 11 am-3 pm
Everyone’s buzzing about bees! Come learn about them and their lifecycle. (Quadrangle Green)

Bees in Art, 11 am-3 pm
Bees appear in artworks from many cultures throughout history. View some examples and create your own bee symbol. (Quadrangle Green)

Origami Experience, 11 am-3 pm
Create your own models with the Mountain folders. (Wheeler Gallery, Second Floor, D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts)
